The Return of Rob Liefeld's NEWMEN
Rob Liefeld needs no introduction to longtime comic readers. He co-created Deadpool, Cable, and X-Force for Marvel before he was even 21, and at 23 he became a co-founder of Image Comics, bringing the publisher to Malibu for distribution and launching the record-setting flagship title Youngblood. Decades later, he's still one of the most recognizable names in the industry — and now his creation NEWMEN is getting a remastered revival from 247 Comics.
NEWMEN follows a group of "Nu-Gene" positive adolescents — teens born with alien DNA that gives them superhuman abilities — as they try to survive in a world that fears their extraterrestrial powers. The series was created by Rob Liefeld, with scripts by Eric Stephenson (the current publisher of Image Comics) and art by Jeff Matsuda. The full series arrives from 247 Comics this fall, but SDCC attendees get the first chance to own it.

The convention-exclusive NEWMEN Special #1 features a new cover penciled by Lucas Lee-Garza, inked by Bill Sienkiewicz, and colored by Gregory Wright — a genuine all-star lineup for a single cover. FIRST-LOOK: Summer Special #1 — 247 Comics' First SDCC Exclusive Cover
The first 247 Comics SDCC 2026 exclusive cover to be revealed was for FIRST-LOOK: Summer Special #1, unveiled by publisher Carl Choi live on Big Nasty and Chonko's Live Live Show Show. The cover was created by artist GODTAIL, and the issue itself is a preview vehicle for two things at once: an exclusive excerpt from Sean Chen and Daniel Wu's EVERMIND Issue #4, and exclusive first-look previews of covers from 247 Comics' full fall slate.
In EVERMIND, scientist Lucas Zhang and his activist daughter fight to keep his neuro-transferrence technology, Project Evermind, out of the hands of paramilitary corporations — all while trapped inside the bodies of a theme park mecha-gorilla and a pleasure-bot. It's the sci-fi thriller that's become one of 247 Comics' flagship titles, and you can explore the ongoing series any time in the Evermind collection or grab the Evermind Vol. 1 Digital Edition on the web store.

Anderson Carman's CYBER LEAGUE — Ashcan Preview with a MANIX Cover
The newest addition to the 247 Comics SDCC lineup is the ashcan preview of CYBER LEAGUE, a new original series from artist Anderson Carman. Carman is a SCAD-trained artist and Ringo Award nominee, creator of Fear Hunters and the children's book Stan the Green Flamingo, with a resume that includes work for Marvel, Image Comics, and Walt Disney Co. Notably, Carman created Cyber League entirely on his own — writing, pencils, colors, and lettering — and the SDCC ashcan marks its print debut.
Cyber League imagines a baseball league made up of cyborgs, where a human named Asher and his ragtag team, the Naturals, try to win the championship against machine-enhanced competition.
The MANIX "Major League" Homage Cover
For the SDCC exclusive ashcan, 247 Comics tapped Manix Abrera — a Filipino cartoonist, three-time National Book Award winner, and creator of the long-running strip Kikomachine Komix — to design a cover that pays homage to the classic 1989 baseball comedy Major League. It's available in both a standard edition and a limited Trade Dress Free Foil Edition.
