Where I Began

When I moved here from Hong Kong in the 2nd grade, I barely spoke the language, and struggled with ADD and dyslexia. I was in Special Education, and ate lunch alone because I didn’t understand the culture.

Then one day, my cousin Kinman brought over a stack of comics.

I learned English reading comics, and found a community with my fellow fans at the local comic book shops: Monster Cellar, Geoffrey’s Comics and Wall to Wall.

I became that annoying kid who showed up at the story every day—and that’s how I got my first job! I read EVERYTHING, and I helped my boss, who was a struggling new entrepreneur, keep the lights on. For our customers, I became a walking previews guide.

Where 247 Comics Began

Fast forward to 2020. This was my view, lying in the hospital room, struggling to survive during COVID quarantine. I had enjoyed a successful career as a talent manager, spending fifteen years fighting for artists, before transitioning to becoming an indie film producer.

But lying there, all I kept thinking about was comics, and the idea for 247 Comics was born. It wasn’t about being a publisher at first. I just wanted to know what it would be like to make one comic book. That inspiration helped me pull through.

Comics saved my life.

We believe comics thrive when we put creators first: they tell the stories they want to tell, and share in the success. For retailers, that means consistent quality and reliable releases. For fans, that means we give you GREAT STORIES, GREAT ART, and a deep respect for the craft.
